Braves Lines for Thursday

A quick set of lines today…

The Tools of Terdo: Outfielder Joey Terdoslavich will apparently spend some time at catcher this spring to add to his versatility. He had a good winter ball campaign, and seems to be in line to compete for a bench spot with Atlanta. He’s a switch hitter, like Ryan Doumit and Ramiro Pena… it’d be kind of interesting to have three switch hitters coming off the bench.

Stay away from B.J.: Gammons Daily points out that a large part of B.J. Upton’s regression last year, and in the year’s leading up to last year, was his inability to hit pitches on the outside part of the plate. Check out the story here, and stare frighteningly at his diminishing contact rate:

BA Top-100: Baseball America released their top-100 minor league prospects last night, and two Braves farm hands made the list. Right-handed pitcher Lucas Sims ranked 57th, and catcher Christian Bethancourt ranked 69th. Sims was pretty much number-1 on everyone’s Braves top prospect list, and appeared on most top-100 lists. He should continue to move up those top-100 lists as he nears the Majors.

Hank: The Brewers have adopted a dog at their spring training complex… and named him Hank, after Hank Aaron.
